 Ladakh is one of the most isolated areas for trekking in India. Cut off by road for the winter months, it offers a welcome escape from the overwhelming monsoon climate of the Indian plains in summer. Ladakh, meaning “The Land of High Passes” is an area of high altitude with breathtaking scenery. It is over one of these passes, the remote Parang La Pass (5600m), where we access Ladakh from the Spiti Valley.

On this trekking holiday one experiences an amazing diversity of landscape and culture. Starting from Delhi we drive north to the Himalayan foothills and into the Greater Himalayan Range (an area where Hinduism is the prominent religion). From there we go into Spiti, over the pass and on to Ladakh, an area enriched by Buddhism. This region is more like Tibet than India earning it the nickname “Little Tibet”.

During this trekking holiday we ascend through steep gorges and cross flower filled meadows (the breeding ground of the famous Spiti horses), where you may spot a snow leopard, blue sheep or Tibetan ass (Kiang). We also visit monasteries, markets, remote villages and the spectacular Tso Moriri lake home to many migrant birds.

The great traverse of Zanskar...

Darsha to Padum

Leading out of the small settlement of Darcha in Himachal Pradesh this is one of the most popular treks traversing the heart of Zanskar.
The highest mountain pass is the mighty Shingo La (Shinkun La), crossing which you emerge into the beautiful Zanskar valley with its tiny oasis like villages bordered with swaying Poplar and Willow trees. On the way you get to visit some ancient monasteries dramatically built on jagged hillsides and also stop and meet the friendly Zanskari inhabitants.

Quaint villages, high grassy meadows, a few crystal clear springs, shimmering snow clad mountains and the beauty of the desolate landscape makes this a fascinating trek.

Trekking In Himalayan Mountains with Top Rock Adventures

Notre équipe de canyoneurs espagnols sont revenus hier, le sourire aux lèvres ! Ils ont eu un temps super, le trek s'est super bien déroulé ! Après le canyon, rien de mieux qu'un trek sur 3 jours avec deux guides locals. Le Bhrigu Lake est un lac perché à plus de 4000m d'altitude. Encore une occasion pour profiter des splendeurs de l'Himalaya.

It's a moderate trek; we do it in one day.
We leave at 6.00 am and come back usually around 5pm in the afternoon.
